Training

• MIRA has developed a 3 - day training package on Essential Newborn Care for different cadres of health workers.
• MIRA has been giving training on neonatal and perinatal Care to doctors, nurses, paramedical and other health personnel in Kathmandu and in other districts
• Training on Essential Newborn Care has been given to over 8 district hospitals, and perinatal and maternal mortality death audit training  to 2 hospitals in collaboration with NSMP/SSMP Support Safer Motherhood Project
• MIRA has given ENC training to the health staff of 2 districts in collaboration with CARE Nepal   
• MIRA has completed training of TBAs, FCHVs, MCHWs, and different cadres of health staff of SHP, HP, PHC of 43 VDCs of Makwanpur District and Hetauda District Hospital.  
• Training on Essential Newborn Care has been given to different cadres of health staff of SHP, HP, PHC of 101 VDCs of Dhanusha district and Janakpur Zonal Hospital.
• Different medical equipment such as 'DSM' Resuscitaire, 'DSM' Warm Baby Cot, 'DSM' Phototherapy Unit, 'DSM' Oxygen Hood, Neonatal Resuscitation Set like bag and Mask, rubber bulb suction, digital thermometer and weighing machine were provided to the hospitals and PHCs. Neonatal resuscitation set containing bag and mask, rubber bulb suction, digital thermometer and weighing machine are provided to health post and sub health post level facilities. Simple tube and mask, rubber bulb suction, two pieces of cloth, antiseptics (G.V. & Betadin solution) in a neonatal kit bag are given to MCHWs, FCHVs and TTBAs.
