Advocacy
- Advocating improvement in
Perinatal and Neonatal Health has been one of the main themes of MIRA
- Advocacy through organizing
conferences, workshops and seminars etc.
- Core staff of MIRA took the
initiative in forming Perinatal Society of Nepal (PESON)
- PESON has conducted various
programs including 3 international conferences
- An international workshop
on “Improving Health of the Newborn infants in Developing
Countries” was held in Kathmandu in
April 1997. Leading
Perinatologists from SAARC region and other countries took part in the
workshop and proceedings of the workshop has
been produced as a reference book- "Improving Newborn Infant Health
in Developing Countries" eds. Anthony Costello and Dharma Manandhar
(Imperial College Press)
- MIRA in collaboration with
ICH, London
has conducted 5 post congress workshops during PESON conferences.
Leading
Perinatologists from SAARC region and abroad were invited to take part
in the post congress workshops.
